We are Bible Based
The Holy Bible was written by man divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man.
We find our entire authority in the teaching of the Word of God. It is our foundation for what we believe and how we live. It is infallible and all-sufficient. It is the revelation of God's person and will.
God Centered
There is only one true and living God. He is an intelligent, spiritual and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal God reveals Himself to us a Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Man
We created by the special act of God, in Hiw own image, and we are the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by God with freedom of choice. By his own free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.
Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.
Salvation
Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the Believer. In it's broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, sanctification and glorification.
Regeneration, or the new birth, is a work of God's grace whereby Believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart brought about by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which a sinner responds in repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Repentance and faith are inseperable experiences of grace. Repentance is a genuine turning from sin toward God. Faith is the acceptance of Jesus Christ and committment of the entire personality to Him as Lord and Saviour. Justification is God's gracious and full acquittal of sin based on His righteousness of all sinners who repent and believe in Christ.
Sanctification is the experience, beginning in regeneration, by which the Believer is set apart to God's purposes, and is enabled to progress toward moral and spiritual perfection through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in Him. Growth in grace should continue throughout the regenerate person's life.
Glorification is the culmination of salvation and is the final blessed and abiding state of the redeemed.
To wrap up this section. We believe salvation is by grace through faith. The Believer is not saved by works but rather will work out their salvation. In other words they will prove themselves by living a life that includes daily worship, service, constant abiding, maturing and the willingness to love, offer grace, be forgiving and be the light of Christ in a world of darkness.
Outreach
God has called His people to reach out and share their story. The church, both as individuals and corporately should be engaged in telling others the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Baptism
It's clear in the Bible that baptism (being immersed) is always after a salvation experience. hile baptism has nothing to do with salvation - we see it as an act of obedience, the outward sign of an inward change.
Lord's Supper
Communion is the 2nd of two ordinances of the church (the other being baptism). The Lord's Supper is a symolic act of obedience where Believers through consuming the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of Christ and anticipate His second coming.
The Church
The New Testament church is a local body of Believers who are associated by covenant in faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, committed to teachings, excercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the saving grace of Christ to the ends of the earth.
Community Life Church is an autonomous body, staff and congregationally led under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
